Lennies is the Director of External Affairs for Comcast for the South Bay and Southern Peninsula areas since February 2010 and previously worked on legislation for 10 years at the California State Capitol. She is an active board member of the Redwood City/San Mateo County and San Jose Silicon Valley Chambers of Commerce.

Elizabeth Castañeda

Public Engagement Manager, San José Public Library

Elizabeth Castañeda is a San José native and graduate of San José State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations. As the Public Engagement Manager for the San José Public Library, she has led her team through a number of award-winning public relations campaigns, gaining national recognition for communicating the value of library services to the diverse communities of San José. She has been a proud member of the Latino Leadership Alliance since 2016, when she completed LLA’s Leadership Academy as a member of Cohort 7.

Raul Peralez


Councilmember, City of San José

Raul Peralez is a lifelong resident of San José, a graduate of downtown’s very own San José State University, and as a former San José Police Officer, he can wholeheartedly say that he is an advocate and champion for our city through and through.

Rogelio Ruíz

Rogelio M. Ruíz is a 1990 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, and he was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 1990. Mr. Ruíz is admitted to practice before all California State Courts; the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California, and the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Andres Quintero

Governing Board Member, Alum Rock Union School District

Andrés Quintero is a life long resident of East San Jose. Andrés attended various east side schools and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. After graduating from Evergreen Valley College, Andrés transferred to San Jose State University where he earned a BA in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree. Andres serves on the Political Science faculty at Evergreen Valley College.

Erika L. Bustamante

Assistant Vice President of State Government Affairs, Stanford University

Erika Bustamante oversees Stanford’s state government affairs efforts. Before joining Stanford, Erika worked in the California State Capitol and was a 2012 California Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the California Council on Science and Technology. Erika holds a BS in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology from UCLA and a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Stanford University. She is also a graduate of LLA Leadership Academy, Cohort 6.

Daniel Cedeño

Government Relations Representative, Pacific Gas & Electric Company

Daniel Cedeño is a Government Relations Representative for Pacific Gas & Electric Company. He oversees government affairs, community relations, and corporate charitable giving for Santa Clara County. Daniel serves as a board member for the Silicon Valley Organization and SPUR, and he is the PG&E member deputy to Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Daniel is originally from Los Angeles, and he holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California, San Diego, School of Global Policy and Strategy.

Maria Garcia

Program Officer, The Health Trust

As Program Officer at The Health Trust, Maria is responsible for the strategic planning and management of the agency’s Grantmaking department. She is a life-long resident of San Jose; Maria entered the nonprofit sector during her sophomore year in high school and has stayed in the sector since. Her experience includes managing direct services, board relations, community engagement, fundraising, and philanthropy. Maria holds a B.A. in Communication from Santa Clara University and M.A. from San Jose State University in Speech Communication. She is also a graduate of LLA Leadership Academy, cohort 2.

Mayra Flores

Communications Director for District 4 Supervisor Susan Ellenberg, Santa Clara County

Mayra Flores is a communications professional residing and working in San José, California. She is a proud San Jose resident, San José State University graduate, daughter of immigrant parents, and mother. Mayra has worked as a PR professional where she worked with legacy companies like McAfee, Micron Technologies and Anheuser-Busch along with tech start-ups like Grammarly. She spent a decade as an award-winning journalist in the South Bay, first at the Silicon Valley Community Newspapers, The Mercury News and AOL’s Patch.

Alfredo Matthew III

Founder, Working World LLC

Alfredo Mathew III is an experienced urban educator, non-profit leader and business owner. He brings over 20 years of experience as a teacher leader in New York City and California public schools, as well as executive leadership of a national youth entrepreneurship organization where he last served as the Western Regional Director. His love of entrepreneurship and career pathways led him to found Working World LLC, a business consultancy with a special focus on early-stage companies and nonprofits at the intersection of education, workforce and entrepreneurship. He works across the spectrum - with employers, social service organizations, schools, community colleges, and philanthropy - to build joint ventures that redesign access to our workforce with Black, Latino and Immigrant communities at the center.
