Erika L. Bustamante

Co-Chair

Assistant Vice President, State Government Affairs, Stanford

Erika Bustamante oversees Stanford’s state government affairs efforts. Before joining Stanford, Erika worked in the California State Capitol and was a 2012 California Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the California Council on Science and Technology. Erika holds a BS in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA and a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Stanford University. She serves on the board of the California Council on Science and Technology and was also a graduate of LLA Leadership Academy, Cohort 6.


Mayra Flores

Co-Chair

Chief of Staff for District 4 Supervisor Susan Ellenberg, Santa Clara County

Mayra Flores is a communications professional residing and working in San José, California. She is a proud San Jose resident, San José State University graduate, daughter of immigrant parents, and mother. Mayra has worked as a PR professional where she worked with legacy companies like McAfee, Micron Technologies and Anheuser-Busch along with tech start-ups like Grammarly. She spent a decade as an award-winning journalist in the South Bay, first at the Silicon Valley Community Newspapers, The Mercury News and AOL’s Patch.


Maria Garcia

Vice-Chair

Program Officer, The Health Trust

As Program Officer at The Health Trust, Maria is responsible for the strategic planning and management of the agency’s Grantmaking department. She is a life-long resident of San Jose; Maria entered the nonprofit sector during her sophomore year in high school and has stayed in the sector since. Her experience includes managing direct services, board relations, community engagement, fundraising, and philanthropy. Maria holds a B.A. in Communication from Santa Clara University and M.A. from San Jose State University in Speech Communication. She is also a graduate of LLA Leadership Academy, cohort 2.


Daniel Cedeño

Government Relations Representative, Pacific Gas & Electric Company

Daniel Cedeño is a Government Relations Representative for Pacific Gas & Electric Company. He oversees government affairs, community relations, and corporate charitable giving for Santa Clara County. Daniel serves as a board member for the Silicon Valley Organization and SPUR, and he is the PG&E member deputy to Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Daniel is originally from Los Angeles, and he holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California, San Diego, School of Global Policy and Strategy.


Lisanna Dominguez

Treasurer

Vice President Strategic Planning  & Development, Latino Education Advancement Foundation (LEAF)

Lisanna Dominguez is a San Jose native, first-generation graduate of the UC Santa Cruz, where she majored in Politics and completed her MBA at the University of the People. Currently, Lisanna is the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development for Latino Education Advancement Foundation. She is the Board President for Local Color San Jose and honored as a 2021 Extraordinary Women of Santa Clara County by the SCC Commission on the Status of Women for her involvement in educational equity and community advocacy. Lastly, Lisanna is a proud graduate of the Latino Leadership Alliance Cohort 11.


Lennies Guiterrez

Board Member

Director of External Affairs, Comcast

Lennies is the Director of External Affairs for Comcast for the South Bay and Southern Peninsula areas since February 2010 and previously worked on legislation for 10 years at the California State Capitol. She is an active board member of the Redwood City/San Mateo County and San Jose Silicon Valley Chambers of Commerce.


Andres Quintero

Board Member

Governing Board Member, Alum Rock Union School District

Andrés Quintero is a life long resident of East San Jose. Andrés attended various east side schools and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. After graduating from Evergreen Valley College, Andrés transferred to San Jose State University where he earned a BA in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree. Andres serves on the Political Science faculty at Evergreen Valley College.


Elizabeth Castañeda

Public Information Manager, San José Public Library

Elizabeth Castañeda is a San José native and graduate of San José State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations. As the Public Engagement Manager for the San José Public Library, she has led her team through a number of award-winning public relations campaigns, gaining national recognition for communicating the value of library services to the diverse communities of San José. She has been a proud member of the Latino Leadership Alliance since 2016, when she completed LLA’s Leadership Academy as a member of Cohort 7.


Karla Alvarez

Board Member

Equity and Inclusion Services Manager for San José Public Library

Karla Alvarez is the Equity and Inclusion Services Manager for San José Public Library, supporting projects to better serve San José’s historically underrepresented and underserved communities. She is a seasoned nonprofit executive, with more than fifteen years of experience leading national and international projects to support youth leadership, gender mainstreaming, immigrant rights and other marginalized groups. She has served as Executive Director of Mixteca Organization in Brooklyn, New York and Acting Country Director for Heartland Alliance International - Mexico, as well as former board member for Mukira AC based in Chihuahua, Mexico. Alvarez received her Master's degree in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame and Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of San Diego.
