  • To be passionate, informed and articulate leaders and spokespeople on issues impacting the Latino community
  • To serve effectively on public and private boards & commissions
  • To support participants in achieving their professional and community objectives by providing mentoring and guidance, introducing participants to the LLA network
  • To train participants on effective coalition building across professional sectors and political ideologies

Qualifications

  • LLA seeks to attract applicants from all backgrounds who are committed to full and diligent participation in the Academy and who can offer diversity of thought, education, and experiences.
  • Applicants from the public and private sectors, self-employed professionals, entrepreneurs, and artists can bring the necessary balance for a successful and transformational experience.
  • Applicants should be a mid-level professional with a minimum of 5 years professional experience and should have a demonstrated track record of leadership either through current employment or community/volunteer engagement or elected office.

Qualifications

Investment

  • Investing in professional development and leadership training can be costly for individuals and companies. LLA works diligently and hard to subsidize the cost of the Leadership Academy by fundraising and through private sponsorships.
  • Tuition:
    $500 for individuals
    $1000 organizational/corporate
  • LLA believes that no qualified, motivated and responsible applicant should be turned away just because of finances. Scholarships and payment plans are available for applicants who can demonstrate financial hardship or need for assistance.
